Honduras Construction Mission Interest Meeting
Upcoming trip on April 4 – 11, 2026

Do you love working with your hands and serving the Lord?  This mission trip to Honduras in April over Spring Break could be a great fit for you!  No construction experience needed; all are welcome to serve!

Come learn about Katlyn McConnell, our mission partner, and founder of Finding Hope Ministry in El Porvenir, Honduras.  She is expanding her ministry to build a foster care home and she needs our help, prayers, and support.  Hope to see you there!  

The cost for the trip is Airfare + $350.

Opportunities include helping with our events (luncheons & parties), our Care Ministry (cards of encouragement, hospital & shut-in visits), and our Outreach Ministry (visits to local senior living facilities).  You may include the specific tasks or locations you want to be involved in the comments section. Men of River Oak–Join us for a golf retreat to reconnect with God, nature, and new friends. On March 19-21, we will play golf at the beautiful Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg. In the daylight, we will enjoy daily rounds of golf and unlimited range time. In the evenings, you will be challenged to grow in your faith through sermons geared toward men and whole-group worship. Our prayer is that you will drive away feeling refreshed and energized.

Calling all BAKERS!

River Oak is involved with an outreach ministry called Kairos Prison Ministry International.  Through Kairos we have a wonderful opportunity to share the love of Jesus with inmates at the Greensville Correctional Center in Jarrett, VA during their KAIROS Christian renewal weekend in April.  

HOW CAN YOU HELP?  BAKE COOKIES!  

Each inmate will receive a bag of cookies during the Kairos weekend.  The cookies represent 3 truths of the Christian life:  God’s grace, the power of Christian community, and the availability of forgiveness.  

River Oak will be collecting homemade cookies the month of March.  

Please pack one dozen cookies in a QUART sized Ziplock bag.  We will freeze them at River Oak.  We need about 100 dozen cookies, so if you can bake a couple dozen, that would be wonderful!

You can drop off the cookies M  – Th 8am – 4pm, Friday 9am – noon, or Sundays during our worship services.  You can put them in the basket marked “Kairos” at Info Central or in our freezer in the main kitchen.
