Are you the primary caregiver for an immediate family member and need encouragement?
Have you previously cared for a loved one and want to offer encouragement to others?
Join us for lunch as we create a welcoming and safe space for caregivers to ask questions, share concerns, find community, and receive encouragement.
Gathering for care givers to be encouraged with scripture, prayed for, and to enjoy fellowship and support from other care-givers. This group is supported by the other Compassion Ministries.

Calling all BAKERS!
River Oak is involved with an outreach ministry called Kairos Prison Ministry International. Through Kairos we have a wonderful opportunity to share the love of Jesus with inmates at the Greensville Correctional Center in Jarrett, VA during their KAIROS Christian renewal weekend in October. HOW CAN YOU HELP? BAKE COOKIES! Each inmate will receive a bag of cookies during the Kairos weekend. The cookies represent 3 truths of the Christian life: God’s grace, the power of Christian community, and the availability of forgiveness. River Oak will be collecting homemade cookies the month of September. Please pack one dozen cookies in a QUART sized Ziplock bag. We will freeze them at River Oak. We need about 100 dozen cookies, so if you can bake a couple dozen, that would be wonderful! You can drop off the cookies Monday – Thursday 8AM – 4PM, Friday 9AM – noon, or Sundays during our worship services. You can put them in the basket marked “Kairos” at Info Central or in our freezer in the main kitchen. |
