This year we invite you, as Jesus, our Savior, invited His disciples, to come away with Him and get some rest, to slow down and fix your eyes on the provider of joy this Christmas season. As we set our hearts and eyes on the Only One who is able to give us true JOY! The morning will include a brunch and time of fellowship as we turn our gaze to Jesus.
 
The last day to register will be December 1st, unless we reach capacity at an earlier date.

Please know that we never want finances to be a concern when it comes to an event. There are scholarships available if needed. Please reach out to Mandy if you feel this is applicable to you.

SALT [Senior Adults Living Transformed] Christmas Party
December 5, 2024 at 2:00PM – 4:00PM // The Hub

We invite all 55+ senior adults for a time of fellowship. This will be a great opportunity to connect with other people in your stage of life. Our Christmas Party for the SALT Ministry will include cookies, hot cocoa bar, and hot apple cider. We will sing Christmas Carols, play games, and enjoy a special Christmas message. We request that all attendees bring 2 dozen of their favorite Christmas cookies, sliced bars, or brownies!  For entry, we ask that everyone bring [new] socks (men’s, women’s, and children’s) to be donated to Union Mission.

Christmas is almost here and with that brings hardship for some. This year at River Oak Church we will be focusing on families at our church, Oscar Smith High School, Oscar Smith Middle School, Truitt Intermediate, Portlock Primary, Great Bridge Middle School, Great Bridge High School, Crestwood Intermediate, Treakle Elementary, Indian River Middle School, Carver Intermediate, Rena B. Wright, Atlantic Shores Christian, Young Lives & Outreach for Christ.

Angel Tree volunteers will collect gifts through December 8th.  

Please prayerfully consider ways you can help contribute to the Angel Tree Ministry.

Chesapeake Area Shelter Team (CAST)

SAVE THE DATE: January 22 – 29, 2025

CAST is coming to River Oak Church! The Chesapeake Area Shelter Team (CAST) is a community of faith providing overnight winter shelter for the homeless in Chesapeake.  Each scheduled week of CAST, there is one church location for homeless guests to receive shelter, meals, resources, and fellowship.  River Oak has the privilege of providing overnight winter shelter to those experiencing homelessness from January 22nd – January 29th, 2025.  

It takes hundreds of River Oak volunteers to host this week and there are many different ways to get involved and be the hands and feet of Jesus to our guests in January.  Sign up below to volunteer during CAST.
