Katlyn Padilla Mission Partner in Honduras
Katlyn McConnell (Padilla) grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia and graduated from Virginia Tech in 2010. Shortly thereafter, Katlyn bought a one-way ticket to a small, rural town called El Porvenir where she began Finding Hope ministry in Honduras, Central America. Finding Hope exists to better the lives of every family that walks through their doors. Finding Hope believes that by forming deep, meaningful relationships, sharing the Word of God, and meeting basic needs, they can help shape a brighter future for generations to come.
Finding Hope serves families in a variety of ways, including before-and after-school programs, daycare, a feeding center, trade classes, youth gatherings, Bible studies, and foster care. They also operate a farm that not only provides fresh meat and eggs but teaches the children valuable life skills from caring for animals to understanding the full “nest-to-table” process.
Today, Finding Hope is stepping out in faith into one of their biggest projects yet: the construction of an 8,000-square-foot, two-story children’s home for abused and abandoned children. While still in the early stages, this home will one day provide safety, stability, and hope for countless children in need.
