Armia & Alexsa Samuel MISSION PARTNER IN AFRICA

The Need: Africa is a continent that is tragically acquainted with ethnic and civil conflicts, disease epidemics, conditions of poverty, and human rights violations, leading to a great need for Christ-centered medical care and trauma healing. In many places in Africa, there is only one surgeon for a population of 250,000 people.

The Mission: To provide Christ-centered surgical care and mental health care in areas of greatest need in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The Strategy: Armia will be serving as a training surgeon at one of the PAACS (Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons) training sites which is housed within a missions hospital. We join with PAACS and their mission to glorify God by training and discipling African surgeons and related specialists to become Christ-like leaders and servants who provide excellent and compassionate care to those most in need.

Alexsa will be serving alongside hospital and community chaplains and social workers, facilitating healing groups and offering trainings in trauma healing. We join with the Trauma Healing Institute and their mission to help equip individuals and churches to be part of God’s healing process for those experiencing trauma by sharing the life-changing message of scripture.

Sending Church: River Oak Church in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Missions Organization: We are serving with SIM, which was founded by a diverse group of believers in 1893 who were joined together by the shared belief that no one should live and die without hearing the good news of the gospel. We respond to need, proclaim the gospel, and equip the church!

Thank you for prayerfully considering joining our team!
